Our first release from the Gatomboya factory in Nyeri, part of the Barichu Farmers’ Cooperative Society — a collective of smallholders whose farms are often no larger than a backyard. Together they produce coffees that capture the vivid, structured character this region is known for.
Grown on the slopes of Mount Kenya, this lot reflects the area’s cool climate, high altitude and rich volcanic soils. Cherries are hand-sorted, fermented, washed and dried slowly on raised beds, yielding clarity and composure in the cup.
We’ve long admired the coffees of Nyeri. This debut shows why — juicy blood orange, blackberry and sweet toffee, with the polish and precision that define the region.
