Kii, Kenya
Kii is located in the Kirinyaga hills near Embu, where a small network of farmers deliver cherry from family-run plots planted mainly with SL28 and SL34. It operates under the Rungeto Farmers’ Co-op and is known locally for its consistency rather than scale.
Established in the late 1960s, the factory follows a straightforward Kenyan washed process: pulped with river water, fermented overnight, soaked, then dried on raised beds. The approach is measured and deliberate, with no excess or shortcuts.
In the cup, that restraint carries through. The coffee is clean and composed, with clear structure and balance.
